Our people are our greatest strength

I’m often asked what it takes to achieve conservation success like the 95,000 hectares NCC is on track to conserve this fiscal year alone. The $1 billion we’ve raised toward our $1.5 billion fundraising goal sure helps, but the real answer is the people behind the money — people like you.

As Ambassadors’ Circle members, you open doors and pocketbooks. You entrust us with your lands. You volunteer your time and expertise. You inspire others to put their trust in us. And you embody the type of leadership nature needs to remain resilient and NCC needs to continue the hard work of delivering impactful conservation results.

I’m not the only one who thinks so.

I recently had the honour of presenting five King Charles III Coronation Medals to recipients living in or near the Greater Toronto Area. In total, NCC will be presenting 19 Coronation Medals to a special group of NCC Ambassadors, long-serving staff members, donors and champions whose lifelong commitment to conservation and nature is making a difference in communities across our country.

We already know these individuals as knowledgeable, passionate, solution-minded and determined allies for nature and the Nature Conservancy of Canada. Please join me in congratulating them all.

This is yet another testament to the power of our growing network and the commitment we all share to continue advocating for nature so we can all thrive.

Thank you to every one of you for all you have done and continue to do for NCC and for nature. I can’t wait to see what the next year brings.
