The Nature Conservancy of Canada (NCC) welcomes hunters on many of our properties. We believe that responsible hunting can be an important tool for conservation and recognize that it is an important part of Canada’s cultural and food traditions.
Why NCC supports hunting
Responsible hunting can play a key role in:
- Monitoring and managing wildlife populations
- Supporting biodiversity in areas with few natural predators
- Sustaining cultural practices, food security, and community traditions
We also respect and support Indigenous harvesting rights and cultural uses on our conservation lands.
Before you hunt
Each property is unique. To hunt on NCC lands contact your local NCC office for:
- Property-specific hunting guidelines
- Information on game laws and seasons
- Any required permissions or restrictions (e.g., during nesting periods)
