Newfoundland and Labrador

As the only land trust organization in Newfoundland and Labrador, the Nature Conservancy of Canada (NCC) has helped protect some of the most ecologically significant areas in the province since our first project here in 1996. On the island, these range from coastal sites that are home to the East Coast Trail on the Avalon Peninsula to the internationally renowned Grand Codroy Estuary near Channel-Port aux Basques. In Labrador, NCC created the NL Nature Atlas , an inventory of Labrador’s natural environment to support other organizations with their land use planning. With the help of partners and community supporters like you, we can ensure the protection of even more important habitats across the province.

Browse our interactive map of nature reserves throughout Atlantic Canada. Visitors are welcome to explore most of these sites. However, as many NCC nature reserves in the province do not have paths, are undeveloped and may have hazards present, please exercise caution when visiting
